Until 5 months, Ergobaby recommend that you only use the front-inward facing position. From 5 months and older, the front-outward position should be used – However only for short periods of time.

front-outward facing. You can also position this baby carrier on your hip or back. What’s more, this Ergobaby carrier adapts to increase in size with your child. It can be used from birth and there’s no need for an infant insert.
On the other hand, the Ergobaby Four Position 360 Baby Carrier gives you the flexibility to carry your little one front-inward facing from birth. However it is with use of the Ergobaby Original Easy Snug Infant Insert; Or from 4 months without the infant insert. Then, you can use it to carry your child front-outward facing from 5 months onwards. From 6 months you can carry your child on the hip or on your back.
