Mountain Buggy Duet V3.0 Pushchair Review
Mountain Buggy Duet v3.0 Pushchair Review
The Mountain Buggy Duet v3.0 Pushchair is the brand new addition to the Mountain Buggy family and improves upon the already loved Mountain Buggy Duet v2.5. With the same great looks but in different colours and patterns, the Mountain Buggy Duet v3.0 Pushchair is now sleeker and more practical than ever. If you are yet to read about how good the v2.5 is, then read our review here.
- Taller seat back height
- Smaller, standing fold
- Individually adjustable leg rest
The seat units are both fully reclinable, making them suitable for use from newborn. There are recline straps located on the rear of each seat which allows your children to lie at any height, whether it be lie-flat or completely upright. Each seat is individually adjusted, which is great if you have one child sleeping whilst the other is awake. These recline straps now have small elastic ties to keep any excess strap in place, a great new feature compared to the v2.5.
Both seats also have a 5-point safety harness that features a quick release button allowing you to easily manoeuvre your children in and out of the buggy. Individual adjustable leg rests can be pulled out for each seat and provide extra support for smaller children or for those taking a nap. Compared to the previous Duet model, the seat back length of the new v3.0 has increased to 64cm. This feature provides added comfort for taller children and allows the Mountain Buggy Duet v3.0 Pushchair to last even longer than before.
Reversible liners are also included in the box, one for each seat unit, and provide your little ones with extra comfort and protection; whilst also adding a splash of colour to your buggy.
Each sun canopy can be individually adjusted and has a pull-out SPF 50+ mesh visor. They also feature individual peek-a-boo windows with magnetic fastenings, allowing you to take a peek inside without disturbing.
Another new feature of the Duet v3.0 is the addition of a hand brake on the handlebar. Alongside an attached tether strap, the brake is used to allow whoever is pushing to take control of the speed of the buggy. This is a great addition when moving through busy shops because there is no need to stop the buggy, but to just slow down. There is also a full foot brake which is easy to use, needing just a gentle toe tap to engage.
The handlebar can be fully adjusted, up and down, to suit any pushchair pushers height and can be done so by clicking in a button located on each side of the handlebar.
Also included with the Mountain Buggy Duet v3.0 Pushchair is a padded bumper bar, which goes across both children, and a bottle holder.
The Duet v3.0’s fold has been updated since its previous model. Once folded, the Duet v3.0 now has a standing fold, that is a huge 7cm smaller in length. For parents with limited storage space, the Duet v3.0 is an ideal space saver.
To fold, the handle bar needs to set to the lowest position, the brake needs to be clicked on and the front wheels need to be turned outwards. Then, push the grey button located underneath the left hand seat and twist. The push chair will fold down into a standing fold and can be left to stand until needed.
The under seat storage basket is very large and is plenty large enough to carry enough baby gear for two or more children. This basket also has two zip-up pockets which keep essentials safe and easily accessible. On either side of the basket, there are additional mesh pockets for keeping larger items separate.
The Duet v3.0 really comes into its element when out and about. It is a small 62cm wide, making it the same width as a single buggy. It effortlessly glides through doorways, avoiding the usual issues had when entering normal doorways. This buggy is ideal for all environments and terrains, from a walk to school to a hilly, woodland stroll. The airless tyres avoid punctures, yet still provide ultimate comfort for your little ones riding inside.
The seats in the Duet v3.0 are suitable for use from birth to 18kg (approximately 4 years), ideal for parents with newborn twins or for those with one newborn and an older child. This buggy is ideal for both city living and all terrain walks, tackling any terrain in its stride. The 10 inch air-filled wheels can be either locked straight or left to swivel, depending on the terrain you are walking on. Mountain Buggy’s ‘kerb pop’ technology also aids with weight distribution, giving you that ‘pop’ when hopping up kerbs and other obstacles.
There are multiple accessories that can be paired with the Duet v3.0, to create a range of modes and options. With the use of a Car Seat Adaptor, the Duet can take a number of different car seats; including the Maxi-Cosi Pebble Car Seat. Just remove the seat unit and click on the adaptors, then your car seat can be clicked on and off.
To turn the Duet v3.0 into a front facing buggy, the Mountain Buggy Carrycot Plus for Duet V3.0 can replace either or both seat units to allow one or two little ones to be parent facing. The Carrycot has three different, parent facing modes, including: lie-flat, incline mode and seat mode. This seat variation allows you to keep your baby facing you for longer and is great for babies with reflux. Plus the cover is reversible, giving you extra choice of colour. The Duet v3.0 is able to take two carrycots, with the addition of a left hand clip.
If you’ve changed the set up of your Duet v3.0 Pushchair to having one forward facing seat, Duet Single Sun Cover v3.0 and Duet Single Storm Cover v3.0‘s are available to shelter your baby from any weather. Also, the Joey Tote Bag can be used alongside any configuration, when travelling with one child. It’s great for extra storage space when out and about.
Aerotech Wheels also give the Duet v3.0 a lighter and puncture free ride.
The Mountain Buggy Double Satchel has also been specifically designed to attach to the handlebar of the Mountain Buggy Duet V3.0 Pushchair. It is large enough to fit everything you and your two little ones will need so is perfect for prepared parents. Plus, it includes a plush changing mat.
The Mountain Buggy Duet v3.0 Pushchair is highly recommended for families with twins or a growing family with a new addition. It is adaptable and has everything you need and want in a pushchair. Easy to use and full of useful features – the Mountain Buggy Duet v3.0 Pushchair gives great value for money and will be a very welcome addition to your parenting arsenal!
