Phil & Teds Dash Pushchair 2015 Review
Phil & Teds Dash Pushchair 2015 Review
The Brand New Phil & Teds Dash Pushchair is out and we had to give it a try. It has had a lot of hype as it is from Phil & Teds ‘World’s best inline’ range. Perfect for city and urban adventures, as well as being a lightweight double buggy, we think that Phil & Teds have really nailed it this time. It’s a fantastic next generation buggy.
The Phil & Teds Dash Pushchair has a lovely premium fabric seat so that it looks just as good as it performs. The fabric is soft to touch and very plush and padded. There is a flip out support to keep little legs comfortable which is adjusted by pulling out a bar underneath the bottom of the seat.
The seat has a 5-point harness with one touch release.
The seat reclines in a couple of different ways. To recline a small amount there are two buckles placed on the back of the seat. You simply release the buckle to recline and tighten them to raise the seat.
To recline the seat properly, there are two zips on the main seat and you allow the seat to lay back from there. It reclines to a lay flat position, great for baby wanting a nap. Once in the fully reclined position you can unzip the back part and pop it out of the way to allow ventilation.
The Dash itself comes in four different colours (black, blue marl, grey marl & red).
We absolutely love the grey marl because it goes beautifully with the Phil & Teds Dash Reversible Liner available in purple, jade & pink. We tested out the grey marl & the reversible liner in jade and look how lovely the colours look together…>>
You can also customise the double kit seat with the Phil & Teds Dash Double Kit Reversible Liner (from £30).
We love that there is no risk of getting a flat tyre as the Dash has aeromaxx wheels. There is suspension on the front wheel which makes travelling smoother for the rider. We like that they’ve kept the Phil & Teds signature white band on the wheels. Great for catching the eye of oncoming vehicles or just looking good in a coffee shop. The Phil & Teds Dash also handily comes with a mud guard and inner wheels blocks for each rear wheel. Great for when you use the double kit as it stops little fingers getting near the wheels.
The front wheel can swivel making it ideal for use through the city or be locked into place to allow for a smoother ride over rougher terrain. It also has a special design to allow it to pop over kerbs easily which definitely makes the ride smoother.
The handle is adjustable, so you can push at your own comfort. In order to do this there are buttons on the inside of the handle that need to be pressed at the same time as rotating the handle.
On the side of the handle you will find a red lever. This is a hand brake and has a red and green dot to indicate whether it is on or off. This is great while you’re on the go and so easy to action as it only requires one hand.
The Phil & Teds Dash Pushchair has a sleek aluminium fold making it an extremely lightweight buggy (11.5kg) even when it’s being used as a tandem double.
In order to fold the Dash there are a few steps that you need to take:
- Firstly, you need to start by folding the bumper bar and lower part of the main seat up. (When using the Dash Double Kit as a second seat you will need to fold the bottom part of the double seat up too).
- Pull out the button on the side of the frame.
3. While pushing the bar underneath the seat, the lock of the fold is released which allows you to push the top of the pushchair to fold down on itself.
4. The auto-lock will then keep the pushchair securely folded. To unfold simply release the auto-lock and pull the handle until the pushchair unfolds itself.
The pushchair is quite compact once folded, especially for a tandem frame. If you have a small boot you can release the wheels easily to make more room. Once folded it is free standing, so makes storage simple.
The hood on the Phil & Teds Dash is very impressive. The fabric provides 50+ UPF sun protection and it is very large to shade the child inside. It also has a sun visor that flips out too which means the hood nearly touches the bumper bar.
The Dash comes with a decent size underneath shopping basket that has a 10kg weight limit! This limit beats its competitors hands down so you’ve got no worries about where to put the shopping. The front of the basket is angled up and along with the high sides help to keep your shopping in place whilst still being accessible from all of those angles.
We are so pleased with the hidden pocket and the headphone slot located on the hood. This mean you can put your phone in it and still listen to music on the go, or use it for your keys or purse to keep them close to hand.
The Dash is compatible with a variety of car seats, by adding the Phil & Teds Dash Car Seat Adaptors (From £29). This means you don’t have to disturb your baby if they’ve fallen asleep in their car seat.

There are various ways of personalising the Phil & Teds Dash 2015. The first thing is that if you intend on using it with a newborn baby you will need a carrycot. The Phil & Teds Dash Snug Carrycot (from £139) is lovely. It is super soft, has a nice spongey mattress and has a ventilated base which creates a very comfortable environment.
The Phil & Teds Dash Double Kit (from £129) attaches to the front of the Phil & Teds Dash for use as a single parent facing seat or attached forward facing while the newborn sleeps in lie-flat mode in the main seat. It also attaches to the rear of the Phil & Teds Dash so that the buggy can be used for 2 toddlers inline or with the travel system.
You can get out whatever the weather with the Dash because you can get a Phil & Teds Dash Sun Cover (from £25) and the Phil & Teds Storm Cover (from £20). They come in a handy bag that fixes around the buggy handle allowing you to use them when needed.
