Phil & Teds Navigator Review

The Phil & Teds Navigator is a three wheel, all terrain pushchair. It is a narrow 59cms yet can accommodate two children using the Phil & Teds Navigator Double Kit. So you can have the normal pushchair for one, normal pushchair with double kit for two or pushchair with carrycot and double kit for two. We tested it on a newly harvested field and thought it did a pretty good job. We loved that it has the flexibility of the second seat attachment to accommodate a growing family. You can also get an attachment which converts your Navigator into a single parent facing pushchair; something pretty unusual with all-terrain strollers. The Phil & Teds Navigator has great pedigree; not just because it’s a Phil & Teds but because it has been fathered by 2 predecessors that have been refined and perfected to product this model.
The Phil & Teds Navigator’s oversized tyres made it great to handle on fields and on county walks. City parks or beach promenades would be the Navigator’s comfort zone. It really is a multi-functional stroller happy in urban and rural environments.
Pneumatic tyres provide good stability. The seat is very well padded and can be brought into the upright position to offer good posture. The 5 point padded harness has a nice touch in that you can unclip the shoulders to remove or add clothing to your child without unclipping them totally. When looking at the Phil & Teds Navigator you get the impression that the seat is made for comfort. It appears very padded and luxurious. It is also firmly in place, so no sliding around of seat liners that other brands sometimes experience.
The quick and flat fold is great. There is a double sided red button under the lip of the seat, just slide and pull the pushchair to fold into 2 halves. It always finds home in the lock position so you don’t need to worry about it accidentally unfolding. There are several places to then hold the stroller from to move to car boot or storage area.
The Phil & Teds Navigator Double Kit is available for ~£100. The Phil & Teds Navigator Double Kit is added to the bottom of the pram where the brake pedal is located, almost underneath the main seat. This second seat is a great accessory for when your growing toddler gets tired and you’ve got a second smaller child in tow. It is a little less comfortable and obviously the view is impaired due to the seating position. However it is a lighter and slimmer solution that a normal double pushchair doesn’t have, as the width of the buggy is no larger than a single size buggy.
Both Sun and Storm covers are available for the Phil & Teds Navigator, which either Double Storm Cover or Single Storm Cover or Double Sun Cover or Single Sun Cover available. We love the fact that Phil & Teds has created both single and double versions of either covers, so with one child it fits perfectly and if another appears on the scene a double cover can easily be found to fit! And for any toes that may start to get chilly in the winter a Phil & Teds Snuggle and Snooze Sleeping Bag is perfect for keeping them warm.
The Navigator is also compatible with the use of a car seat with Car Seat Adaptors, fitting the Maxi-Cosi Pebble or Cabriofix, Phil & Teds Optimum or Cybex Aton car seats. Or if you’ve only got the one child that’s ever so new a Phil & Teds Snug Carrycot which can be clipped onto the frame of the Navigator, perfect for a new born.
